Community Plans Spring Home Buying Seminars

Community will host a free home buying seminar on Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at its main office. Another seminar will be hosted the following week in Spanish, on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

The purpose of the seminars is to help more local residents buy a home. Both events will feature speakers with experience in budgeting, mortgage lending, real estate sales, and the contractual aspects of buying a home.

Community’s home buying seminar will cover many topics including how to find and buy a home, apply for a mortgage, repair credit, and qualify for special down payment programs. The scheduled presenters include: Enrique Gaytan, Realty of America; Patricia Guitierrez Pascual, Patricia Gutierrez Pascual Law, P.C.; Art Neville, Community Savings Bank; and Ivelisse Serrano, Association House of Chicago.

“Community wants to help local residents understand mortgage lending programs and what’s needed to buy a home in today’s market,” said Art Neville, vice president and chief loan officer at the bank.

President, Dane H. Cleven, explained, “This seminar is part of Community’s continuing mission to help local residents own homes. We hope the attendees leave with a better understanding of the process.”
